GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

Below you will see two columns. The first deals with graduation requirements for all Georgia students. The second column has promotion requirements for each year. These promotion requirements are for all grade levels at WHS.

Graduation Requirements

The links below spell out, subject by subject, the requirements for graduation of the class of 2013, 2014, and 2015.

PROMOTION REQUIREMENTS

In December, 2004, the Cherokee County Board of Education
amended the promotion/retention policy. The new policy went
into effect at end of the 2004-2005 school year.

The requirements for promotion to the next grade level are as follows:      

• To be promoted to the 10th grade a student must have:
  5 units (must include 1 unit English, 1 unit math, and 1 unit of science)
  

• To be promoted to the 11th grade, a student must have:
  11 units (must include 2 units English, 2 units math, and 1 unit of science) 
   
• To be promoted to the 12th grade, a student must have:
  17 units (must include 3 units English, 3 units math, 2 units science and 1 unit social studies)
